We’re excited to welcome you to the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum. These tips can help you plan your visit:
Please plan at least 1 ½ hours to view our five levels. The museum closes at 4:45 p.m. each day. Plan ahead to decide what to see first. Then buy your tickets!
Please wear a face mask when you visit. Face coverings are required when inside all public spaces in Colorado. Please also keep at least 6’ of distance between you and museum visitors and staff.
Our staff is cleaning restrooms and commonly touched surfaces often to protect your health.
Interactive parts of exhibits have been disabled or removed to minimize the risk of transmitting COVID-19.
Visit the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, and the Matchless Mine, for an unforgettable experience! Like many visitors, you’ll come away surprised at all you learn.
From a giant dinosaur track to meteorites to realistic walk-in mine replicas, you’ll find plenty of fun things to see.
The Matchless is closed to the public for 2020 because of rehabilitation work on the historic hoist house. Please plan to visit starting Memorial Day weekend in 2021.
Groups must call for reservations at least one week in advance to ensure availability and make any special arrangements!
Youth will learn about geology, chemistry, and the wonders of mining. Scouts can complete many requirements toward their Mining in Society badge.
